5 Fun Facts!

1) The first director that was chosen, Dick Richards, was fired because he wanted to change the movie and make it about a whale.

2) Roy Scheider didn’t believe that the crew would save him if any emergency actually happened. So he hid axes around the boat incase he needed to save himself.

3) If you didn’t know, they used a mechanical shark. One of them was actually lost into the sea during filming.

4) There was a lot of problem with the mechanical shark. So Spielberg had to put more shot of the shark’s perspective since it broke down too much.

5) Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss fought a lot during the set.

Introduction

The movie Jaws was produced in 1975, it first started out as a book that has the same title and it was written by Peter Benchley. After a while the director of the movie Steven Spielberg who adapted the book and created the movie Jaws.

Jaws is basically a movie about this beach called the Amity Island, where at first a swimmer that was found was believed that he got attacked by a shark and the people around the beach, polices believe that it was a shark attack as they have investigated, but the mayor, wouldn’t want to admit or believe that it was the shark attack as he puts making money from the beach comes first rather than caring about the swimmer’s safety, he knew the beach would be full of people as it was 4th of July soon and so he could have more money rather than just shutting the beach down.
